SolidWorks

Snippet from Wikipedia: SolidWorks

SolidWorks is a solid modeling computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) application published by Dassault Systèmes.

According to the publisher, over two million engineers and designers at more than 165,000 companies were using SolidWorks as of 2013. According to the company, fiscal year 2011–12 revenue for SolidWorks totaled $483 million.

How to get it

The university owns two different licenses of the SolidWorks product line. There is one license to be used only for private computers, such as student's personal computers. And the other license is intended only for computers owned by the university. These licenses are intended for non commercial use only, of course.

Both type of licenses can be requested by students, phd students, personal and lecturers. Just make sure, to use the right license depending of the ownership of the computer intended to be used.

Using privately owned computers, please proceed to the next section.
Using university's computers, proceed to this section.

The license for privately owned computers can be requested by logging into the elearning course.

This course's page gives all necessary information to get the software. However, it is in German only. Therefore, you'll find a translation below (07/2018).
